Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for the Ribble Valley and Fulwood, and Vice-Chairman of the All-Party Parliamentary Beer Group, today welcomed the Conservative Party campaign to “Save the Great British Pub”.


Mr Evans said:

“I’m delighted that the Conservative Party are officially backing our pubs through the “Save the Great British Pub” campaign.

“Pubs are closing at a rate of 36 a month and they need all the support they can get.

“This is a great step forward for the campaign. Economic circumstances have changed drastically since the last Budget and I hope the Government will now recognise that the sensible response is to axe plans to impose the tax escalator”.
