Nigel Evans, Member of Parliament for the Ribble Valley, was yesterday elected as Chairman of the North West Conservative MP’s Group. The Group has been re-established in order to provide Conservative MPs from the North West with regular opportunities to meet and discuss issues that affect their constituents and the region. The Group will invite leading Members of the Government to attend meetings so that the concerns of the North West are heard at the highest level.
Speaking after the meeting, Mr Evans said:
“I am delighted that the Group has been reconstituted and I am proud to serve as its Chairman. What we want to ensure is that the North West is not neglected or forgotten by the Government and we will seek to ensure that the concerns of our constituents and the region are actively promoted and properly heard.
“Our first meeting was productive and extremely positive. My colleagues and I are looking forward to working together in the best interests of the North West.”
